Palazzo2009, installation

Completed during a residency at the Camden Arts Centre’s Artists’ Studio, in London, Palazzowas created to converse with the gallery premises. The structure, reminiscent of a high-end decorative pattern from afar, is made of systematically tied-up mop heads that reveal themselves as we move closer. In an interview on the occasion of his exhibition at the CAC, the artist stated: “I think the key thing is how to find and how to get the joke right. If the objects are really in your face and trying really hard to be funny, they become really not funny and not humorous. So I think the secret is in finding the right time to tell the joke.”
