She is an artist and researcher who works with video, digital media and curation. In 1995 she founded Go Girl Productions and in 2007 Screen Culture Pty Limited. Her short films and videos, such as Cheap Blonde, Contemporary Case Studies and Making Out in Japan, have won awards and been shown at international festivals. He directed the award-winning documentaries Maverick Mother (2007) and Jabe Babe - A Heightened Life (2005). His work has been the subject of retrospectives such as Taipei Festival, 2003; Arsenal Cinema, Berlin, 2002; Boston Cinematheque, 2001; Chauvel Cinema Sydney, 1993; and is part of the Forum des Images, Videotheque de Paris; National Lending Library Collection, Australia; among others. She curated Eye for Idea, short experimental film and documentary works by Australian women directors, Tampere Short Film Festival + Berlin Kinemathek (2002); Transvideo, contemporary video art from South America (1997); Serious Art of the Unserious, experimental comedy program (1995); and Shortenz, short film and video work from Aotearoa, New Zealand (1994, in partnership with Moving Image Centre NZ). Since 2007, she has held a PhD from the University of Technology, Sydney.
