Works by Brazilian Marina Abs (1962-2002) and Lebanese Akram Zaatari are in the two new volumes of the Retrospectives series, which will be exhibited in the Festival and will be available to consultation at Associação Cultural Videobrasil. A product of the Associação’s collection, the compilations bring together key works by these two authors, with emphasis on those which were presented in the International Electronic Art Festival. The series has already titles dedicated to the work by artists Eder Santos, Carlos Nader and Rafael França.
In parallel with the development of an extensive online Data Bank and the production of documentaries of Videobrasil Authors Collection, the compilations are part of an effort to treat, compile and make the remastering of the collection gathered in the course of 20 years of the Festival. The objective is to facilitate the access for the public, experts, our users and the “Videobrasil Community” to essential works and artists in the panorama of Brazilian video art and of the southern circuit.
